WHO WE ARE

The core aims of the Advisory Service are to promote educational inclusion and achievement of children/young people with Autistic Spectrum Disorders or related communication difficulties and to work in partnership with children and young people, parents and carers and other professionals and agencies. The specialist advisory teachers offer a range of services to both mainstream and special schools in the borough of Wandsworth. Specialist teachers offer support to staff, children and their families in the development, implementation and evaluation of strategies to meet students’ identified needs. These strategies may relate to curriculum access, communication, social, behavioural and sensory issues as well as emotional development. A major component of our work is to help disseminate good practice and to facilitate an exchange of information between schools working with children and young people with ASD.
