Sue Rademacher - Deputy Head of Service

Hello, I’m Sue Rademacher, and I’d like to introduce myself as the new Deputy Head of Garratt Park Advisory Service.

I am a qualified teacher with a Postgraduate Advanced Diploma in  learning difficulties and accredited courses and certificates for training in understanding and supporting students with ASD. I have taught in a variety of settings including mainstream and special education; and for the last eight years have been travelling around the UK advising,     training and supporting staff working with children and young people with special educational needs.

My main role will be to develop the service within the primary sector. I will be helped in this endeavour by Emma, Michelle and an OT. We will be working in close collaboration with the Community Therapy team to ensure that every pupil gets the best support from a multi agency team.

The primary outreach section of the service will be available to mainstream Wandsworth schools in the following ways:

· Supporting schools with strategic development to become  ASD Friendly

· Advising schools about effective provision mapping and IEP target setting

· CPD for staff to improve the teaching and learning of pupils with ASD

· Assisting with curriculum access through team teaching, modelling and mentoring

· Devising and supporting the implementation of programmes for groups and individuals with ASD

We will also be supporting parents through informal meetings and more planned training sessions as well as through attending multi agency meetings.

If you would like to chat about your school and its needs please       contact the service.
