Garratt Park School Construction Week
Garratt Park School had a construction week, where students were able to have a go at different skills in the construction industry, bricklaying and plastering being just a couple.
Students from mainstream SEN departments were invited to come along. Students from Graveney and Saint Cecilia’s took Garratt Park up on this offer and had a great time.

Garratt Park Sensory Room
Garratt Park has a Sensory Room which is proving to be invaluable to both the school and the Advisory Service. Recently students from Elliott have been coming to Garratt Park to enjoy lessons in the Sensory Room to develop their creative writing skills.
A Note from Michelle.

Wishing you the very best for the future. Keep in touch. Michelle
Advisory Service Staff News
Sadly at the end of term the Advisory Service will be saying goodbye to Michelle O’Dwyer. Michelle has been with us since January 2006 and has played a major part in building the links with the then newly established Advisory Service. Michelle has great energy and enthusiasm for the Advisory Service along with lots of brilliant ideas. Her bright smile will be missed, but lucky for us, she is not going far; she will be teaching a new Year 7 group in Garratt Park main school. Louise Ware will be taking over from Michelle and although Michelle will be a hard act to follow, we are sure Louise will be just as great and continue with the good work Michelle has started.

There is a systematic trend in the growth of referrals for the autumn term (An Increase of 22 referrals from 28 in 2005 up to 52 in 2006). In the spring terms, analysis reflects a dramatic reduction of referrals over the last year from 51 in 2005 to 12 in 2006 and the same pattern is evident when comparing the summer term of both years (a decline in referrals from 48 to only 5).
